Antarctica really is the “last frontier” – an entire continent that has not yet been ruined by man. It is located in the Antarctic region of the Southern Hemisphere and almost entirely within the Antarctic Circle and home to the South Pole. It is the 5th largest land mass after Asia, Africa, North America and South America. Over 98% of its surface is covered in an ice sheet measuring, on average, 1.6km in thickness.

People strive to visit Antarctica because it offers a totally unique and different environment to anywhere else on Earth. Its ice-filled waters teaming with marine mammals open up to show seals, whales, penguins and other varieties of life completely at home in their natural habitat. For many it is the opportunity get physically close to such marine wild life that makes the experience so wonderful.  There is also the incredible wind and water-sculptured ice formations, and the silence and the serenity that combine to show how truly wonderful the natural world is. For most people a visit to Antarctica is a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience. Let us organize your trip to “wonderland” with one of the offers below.

Antarctic Dream from Ushuaia back to Ushuaia (10 nights / 11 days)

The Ship

The Ship was originally built for the Chilean Navy for scientific work in and around its Antarctic bases. It has an ice-strengthened hull and endured a total refit in 2003 to become a luxury “intimate-style” passenger vessel for expedition cruises to Antarctica. The objective of the company is to offer the best in Antarctic expedition cruises in terms of comfort and excursions with up to 10 landings in a voyage, weather permitting.

The ship can accommodate up to 78 passengers in luxury cabins on four passenger decks. There is spacious dining room, snug bar, reference library and fitness room aboard too.

Embarkation is in Ushuaia from where the navigation heads across the famous Drake Passage and towards the South Shetland Islands and on to the Antarctic Peninsula. In this ice-filled land the ship will navigate through channels and into inlets to observe wildlife and make landings in rib-zodiac dinghies where possible.

This is an opportunity to enjoy first-class comfort onboard a ship whilst it passes through some of the most incredible scenery on Earth, receive informed lectures and have plenty of time to take it all in.
