Torres del Paine Buses and Transport

Buses & Transport in and Around Torres del Paine

Bus
The most common form of transport is by regular bus between cities and also in to Torres del Paine. Buses are generally good quality and are low cost. The disadvantages are that they can break down, be overcrowded and not operate to the schedule that you want or need.

Private Transfer

For those with a higher budget, or for private groups travelling together, a private transfer between cities and / or in to and out of Torres del Paine is the way to go. A private transfer will go at the times you want and take you door to door.

Rent a Car

For those who wish to have total independence having your own car use is the ultimate winner. You can go where you want when you want. Remember that if you want to take the car across the border a permit is required and this requires about a week’s notice and payment of approx USD120.

This reservation-only bus service departs El Calafate at 05:30hrs (and from your hotel at 05:15hrs, if within 3 km of the centre of El Calafate).  Arrives at Laguna Amarga at 12:30hrs. Drop-off can be at: Pudeto 13:30hrs and TDP Admin 16:00hrs

Approx USD90 per person one way

Torres del Paine > El Calafate (from Laguna Amarga)

Departures are only from Laguna Amarga at 15:30hrs or 16:30hrs depending on time of year.
