Cerro Castillo
Cerro Castillo Border Crossing Chile - Argentina
Cerro Castillo is a very small village. It was initially a settlement on one massive etancia comprising a few buildings for livestock and residents. Today Cerro Castillo is still a small settlement and the main border crossing point between Chile and Argentina.
Road traffic passes through here en-route to El Calafate. Cerro Castillo is 58km from Puerto Natales by paved road and about 57km from Laguna Amarga in Torres del Paine by unpaved road.
The border is open between 08:00hrs to 22:00hrs each day and, depending on the number of buses, can take a long time to pass through - and even longer on the Argentine side.
There is a cafe on the Chile side that offers snacks and drinks as well as food and gifts.
