Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine by boat and fast rigid-inflatable-boat (rib) zodiac up Rio Serrano.

Description

From Puerto Natales the trip begins aboard an enclosed-cabin boat that motors up the “Ultima Esperanza” (Sound of Last Hope) for 2hrs, passing by the mountain sides that are home to a variety of different birds arriving to the area near to the Glacier Balmaceda. Shortly after arriving here you then disembark and walk through native woodland to a lagoon to see the low-altitude Serrano Glacier coming down from the mountain to where its glacial face is breaking off into icebergs in the lagoon.

After some time here you then board a rib-zodiac dinghy to be taken across the Rio Serrano to a rustic restaurant on the other side, located in a very tranquil, natural wilderness area and from where there is a striking view back to the Glacier Serrano.

After a fixed-menu lunch you then board the rib-zodiac dinghies for a 2hr up-river adventure passing by the virgin banks of the Rio Serrano and into Torres del Paine.

This experience offers a real adventure that is exciting, but not at all physically demanding. It allows you to see views of the area that are not otherwise possible, and a way to get into the Park that most people are not aware of.

Although you need to bring a warm jacket, gloves and hat, full wet-weather gear is supplied for the rib-zodiac boats and any luggage is taken to meet you at the final destination in TDP. We can even have your rental car be driven around to where you arrive in TDP or organize an onward transfer to your hosteria, hotel or refugio.

The trip above, if done in reverse, starts from a point very close to the Hotel Rio Serrano. Reservations are essential.

From Puerto Natales

Check-in is at the “Bories” pier (this is about 5km out from Puerto Natales heading north on the coastal road): 07:45hrs

From Torres del Paine

Check-in is at Rio Serrano, close to the Hotel Rio Serrano: 08:45hrs

Transfers

We can also add a transfer from arrival at Torres del Paine to wherever you need to go in Torres del Paine and, of required, a transfer from your hotel Puerto Natales to the “Puerto Bories” or from “Puerto Bories” to your hotel.

Rent a Car

We can also arrange for a rent a car to be driven to Torres del Paine to meet you when you arrive there.
