Using the original spelling for Payne, the Mirador (meaning view point) del Payne is a working estancia (called Lazo) with an exceptionally good view to the Central Massif of Torres del Paine, but from outside the National Park borders looking back in.
The most modern accommodation is in a separate self-contained unit offering clean, simply-furnished bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, with another few rooms in the original farm property.
One of the nice things about the Mirador del Payne is its cozy restaurant and lounge room and the lovely views across Lake Sarmiento to the Cuernos del Paine Central Massif.
It is located, technically, outside the official boundary line Torres del Paine National Park, and 30km off the main road running into Torres del Paine, but it is a great place and also well situated for one of the hikes from Laguna Verde into the Park. The drive time from here to the Laguna Amarga entrance of Torres del Paine is about 50min.
