The Hosteria El Pionero is an original house from the time when the entire area was one massive estancia. It is historical and charming. Rooms are individual and spacy, with high ceilings and simple, country-rustic style beds. It is located at the border-crossing village of Cerro Castillo, about 100km from Torres del Paine.
It is very homely and offers guests a friendly welcome with living room and dining room to be used.
This is a very useful place to stay over if needing a night at the border when travelling between Chile and Argentina. Best suited to those with a car.
