Refugio Grey Torres del Paine

Refugio Grey in Torres del Paine is one of the original refugios still operating as it always has. It is nestled among the trees on the bank beside Lago Grey and about 1hrs hike from the side of Glacier Grey, although the face of Glacier Grey can be viewed from a hill a lot closer.
This refugio is very much "what is says on the tin" - it is a basic hikers' hostel. The few rooms are small and cramped with rather tatty bunk beds, with up to 8 beds in a room. Downstairs is a small communal shower room and WC.
It does have a cozy dining area with small kitchen at the end and after a long day it offers a friendly and warm sanctury from the chilling wind outside.
Next to the refugio is the camp site.
To get to Refugio Grey you either come over on the boat from Hosteria Lago Grey or hike here from Refugio Paine Grande (3.5hrs) or from Camp Site Los Perros (8hrs).
