Refugio Paine Grande Torres del Paine
Previously known as: Refugio Pehoe Torres del Paine
Reservations Required The Refugio Paine Grande used to be known as the Refugio Pehoe and is not connected to the Hosteria Pehoe - the two are very different and also in different locations.
The refugio is, from the outside - ugly. It is a blot on the landscape, but it is arguably the best refugio in Torres del Paine offering large, well-built bunk beds in dormitory rooms and communal (segregated) shower rooms.
It is on the "main junction" for the Torres del Paine W trek where people come over on the catamaran, depart on the catamaran or just pass through on their way to Refugio Grey (west) or to Cuernos (east).
It has a large, canteen-style restaurant that offers decent hot meals, a mini-market and a bar. Adjacent to the main structure is a camping ground and Dome Tent ground (hard-shell domes with beds in).
Options include bed only or made-up bed; sleeping bag; all meals
